8 prompts · same settings on both sides

Generated 2026-10-18 through CheaperGen's own routes, the ones our API uses for these settings: MiniMax H3 through its official-model channel, H3 Fast on optimized GPU inference for open-source models. Both sides got the same prompt and settings (768P, 6 s, audio on, prompt rewriting off) and were submitted at the same moment. Times run from submitting the request to a downloadable clip, as a customer would see them. H3 Fast used seed 1018; MiniMax's H3 API takes no seed, so the clips are independent samples of the same prompt. Clips are shown as delivered, without re-encoding.

What is MiniMax H3 Fast?

MiniMax H3 Fast is an inference-accelerated build of MiniMax H3's open weights: the same text, frame and reference inputs and a synchronized soundtrack, at 480P or 768P, returned many times faster and for a fraction of H3's price.

Accelerated variant

An inference-accelerated build of MiniMax H3's open weights, served on our own GPU inference for open-source models. The acceleration is not a MiniMax release, and MiniMax does not sell this variant.

The original: MiniMax H3 — choose it when you need MiniMax's own output or its higher tiers.

How it is faster

  • Same H3 open weights and inputs: text, first / last frame, or references
  • Low-precision attention and kernels, plus post-training for fewer, faster sampling steps (exact recipe not published)
  • Served warm on GPUs that already hold the model, and returned in the same request
  • Up to 768P (no 2K) and 4–15 s; output can differ from MiniMax's own H3 API for the same prompt

H3, accelerated

H3 Fast runs MiniMax H3's open weights on our own GPU inference for open-source models: low-precision attention and kernels and fewer sampling steps, on GPUs that are already warm. A 6-second clip comes back in well under a minute instead of minutes.

What stays, what changes

Inputs and output shape match H3: text, a first and last frame, or up to 9 reference images, 3 clips and 3 audio tracks, with sound generated alongside the picture. It tops out at 768P (no 2K), and because the sampling is shortened, details can differ from MiniMax's own H3 API — compare them side by side below.

Not a MiniMax release

MiniMax published H3's weights; the acceleration is a third-party build and MiniMax has no price for it. The official model is MiniMax H3 — choose it when you need 2K or MiniMax's own output.

  • Accelerated variant: the struck-through price is the official MiniMax H3 API price at the same resolution (H3 at 768P, H3 Max at 480P). MiniMax has no price for H3 Fast itself.

MiniMax H3 Fast FAQ

An inference-accelerated build of MiniMax H3's open weights, served on our own GPU inference for open-source models. It takes the same inputs as H3 and returns a 480P or 768P clip with sound many times faster. It is not a MiniMax release, and MiniMax does not sell it.

Faster and cheaper, up to 768P instead of 2K, and — because sampling is shortened — details can differ from MiniMax's own H3 for the same prompt. The comparison gallery on this page shows both, generated through our API with the same prompts and settings.

Per second of output video at 480P or 768P, with the soundtrack included. In reference-to-video, reference-video seconds are billed like output seconds and images after the fifth add a small fee. Failed generations are never charged.

MiniMax doesn't sell H3 Fast, so there is no official H3 Fast price. We compare it with the official MiniMax H3 API price at the same resolution: H3 at 768P, and H3 Max at 480P, MiniMax's only official 480P tier.

Yes, subject to MiniMax's usage policy and our Terms of Service.

MiniMax H3 Fast costs $0.0369–$0.0546 per second of video, 26–32% below the official MiniMax H3 API price. A 5-second 480P clip is $0.19. You pay per second, with no subscription needed, and failed generations are refunded. Real projects priced end to end: MiniMax H3 Fast API cost.

480P: $0.0369/s (official MiniMax H3 API $0.05); 768P: $0.0546/s (official MiniMax H3 API $0.08). The price per second page breaks it down further; every tier is on MiniMax H3 Fast API pricing.

Use 480P and short clips while you iterate (from $0.15 a clip), then render finals at the resolution you need. Every tier here is already 26–32% below the official MiniMax H3 API price. More: Cheapest MiniMax H3 Fast.

The MiniMax H3 Fast API documentation covers its 3 endpoints (minimax/h3-fast/text-to-video, minimax/h3-fast/image-to-video, minimax/h3-fast/reference-to-video): every parameter with its allowed values and default, request and response examples in cURL, Python and Node.js, polling, webhooks and errors. An OpenAPI file is available too.

Besides MiniMax H3 Fast, the MiniMax API covers MiniMax H3 Max (from $0.0396/s) and MiniMax H3 (from $0.057/s). All run on the same API key; the MiniMax API page compares them side by side, and MiniMax Latest shows which is newest.

There is no free tier, but no subscription is needed either: credits are prepaid and only successful generations are charged. Failed generations are refunded automatically, and the quote endpoint (POST /v1/quote/{endpoint}) prices any request for free. No code needed: how to use MiniMax H3 Fast in the Studio.
