Migration guide

Move from fal.ai in four steps

The same request on both platforms. Only the URL, the auth header and a few field names change.

    Create a key

    Sign in, create an API key in the dashboard and add credits.

  2. 02

    Change the endpoint

    POST to /api/v1/run/{endpoint} with Authorization: Bearer.

  3. 03

    Map the inputs

    Fields are flat in the body. Each model's API page has its JSON Schema.

  4. 04

    Read the result

    Poll GET /api/v1/generations/{id} or pass webhook_url.

Fal API questions

fal.ai documentation shows `POST queue.fal.run/{model_id}` with `Authorization: Key <FAL_KEY>`, then `status_url, then response_url` for the result. On CheaperGen, send `POST /api/v1/run/{endpoint}` with `Authorization: Bearer`, then use `GET /api/v1/generations/{id}` or a webhook. The migration guide above maps each field.

Yes: ?fal_webhook=https://… (query). CheaperGen takes `webhook_url` in the request body and signs every delivery with HMAC-SHA256 (the `CheaperGen-Signature` header). See Webhooks.

Mostly: change the URL, the auth header and a few field names. The migration guide above shows the same request on both. Each model's API page has its JSON Schema.

From its public docs: Queue (asynchronous) with polling or signed webhooks; also sync, streaming and WebSocket realtime. CheaperGen's API is asynchronous — submit, then poll or receive a webhook; on the MCP server, generate can wait up to 50 seconds for the result.
